Canby PD to Issue Alerts to Citizens of Canby

The Canby Police Department will now be issuing alerts to interested residents on road closures, public safety threats and other community information through technology from Nixle, a San Francisco based company.

Like Twitter, the service send out alerts on everything from traffic snarls to free movie showings that can be accessed on cell phones, through e-mail or on the Web. Residents who want to receive the alerts should sign up through Nixle.com.
