March 18th, 2007 1:03 PM CANBY POLICE ARREST EX-CONVICT FOR POSSESSING A FIREARM DURING A TRAFFIC STOP. On 4-19-08 at 10:22pm Canby Police arrested James Walker DOB: 3-11-81 of Portland during a traffic stop on SW 1st ave and S. Grant Street in Canby. Walker was operating a Gold 1996 Cadillac four door with expired registration tags. Walker had two other passengers in the vehicle that were not arrested or charged.
During the traffic stop Walker was found to be in possession of a Raven Arms .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun that was loaded with five rounds. The handgun was concealed in Walker's pocket. Walker was arrested for Ex-Convict in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Forged Instrument II, and False Information to Police. Walker admitted to being a member of the Barrios Los Padrinos gang that is associated with the Surenos gang. Walker was convicted in Washington State, in 1999 for a Drive By Shooting. That case was in Douglas County Washington. Walker was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail. The case is being referred to the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office for review.
