CANBY POLICE LOOKING FOR SUSPECT IN RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY, UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE AND HIT AND RUN

On September 28, 2007 at 11:46am, 22 year old David Moriarty and 21 year old Rollin Morgan attempted to burglarize a residence on NE 34th place in Canby.

Both suspects were confronted by one of the residents and ran out of the house into an adjacent field. David Moriarty was located on the West Linn side of the Canby Ferry and arrested.

Rollin Morgan stole a car from a nearby residence located in the 3800 block of N Locust Street in Canby. This residence is a short distance from the original burglary incident.

The brother of the owner of the stolen vehicle saw the vehicle being stolen and was attempting to catch up with it, as it was traveling away from the scene at a very high rate of speed.

Rollin Morgan then drove the stolen vehicle southbound on North Locust Street and crashed into a medium sized tree at North Locust Street and NE 12th in Canby.

The victims brother watched the suspect run from the vehicle and into the backyard of a residence. A police K9 was called to the scene and Rollin Morgan was not located and is at large.

David Moriarty, who resides in Portland, was lodged at the Clackamas County Jail for Burglary I. Rollin Morgan is a transient and may be in the Canby or Portland areas.

Please call the Canby Police at 503 266-1104 if you have any information regarding the location of Morgan.
