CANBY MAN ASSAULTED BY TWO NORTENO GANG MEMBERS

On 8-6-07 at 1:03am, Canby Police responded to a fight at the Royal Ascot Apartments in Southeast Canby on the report of a disturbance.

Officers were advised that a Hispanic male was being pursued and beaten by two other Hispanic males.

Officers arrived and found the 21 year old victim with blood on his face. The victim told officers that he was at a party in the apartment complex when he was approached by the two males. The victim told officers that the males wanted him to go buy them some drugs.

When the victim refused the males began to hit and punch him. The victim ran from the apartment screaming for help. The victim told police that he kept screaming until someone came out of their apartment.

The two suspects ran away and were later arrested at their apartment by Canby Police Officers. The victim was transported to a local hospital for his injuries, he was later released. The victim is not a gang member.

Both suspects, who are from Canby, were lodged at Clackamas County Jail for Assault III. The case has been referred to the Canby Police Gang Enforcement Unit.
