May 9th, 2007 9:44 AM CANBY MAN ARRESTED ON GRAFFITI RELATED CRIMINAL MISCHIEF CHARGES A 35 year old Canby man was arrested on Monday May 7th at 2:00am, after he was caught spray painting graffiti on an industrial building in Southeast Canby.
Sgt Scott Cunningham was patrolling in the area of 307 Sequoia Parkway when he saw a vehicle parked at the business after hours. The building belongs to a business called JV Northwest. As Sgt. Cunningham pulled into the business's parking lot, a male subject approached him. The subject was identified as JAIME ESTEVAN PICO DOB: 12-9-71. It was discovered that there was freshly painted graffiti in blue spray paint on the side of the building PICO had walked from. Sgt. Cunningham checked PICO's hands and found blue spray paint on his right hand. PICO began to cry and admitted to painting the graffiti, stating he needed some place to do his art. PICO was cited for Criminal Mischief II, Unlawfully Applying Graffiti, and Unlawfully Possessing a Graffiti Implement. PICO was lodged at Clackamas County Jail. The graffiti is not believed to be gang related.
