April 11th, 2007 9:11 AM BODY FOUND IN WILLAMETTE RIVER IDENTIFIED AS SUSPECT FROM CANBY POLICE PURSUIT The body that was located in the Willamette River last Friday has been identified as the driver of the vehicle involved in a pursuit with Canby Police on 3-16-07 (SEE ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE BELOW).
GREGG B. WELCH Jr DOB: 10-8-68 was identified through fingerprints taken by the Clackamas County Medical Examiner. WELCH was identified as the driver of the pursuit vehicle by a Volvo car key that was located in his pocket. The key fit the suspect vehicle that has been in impound by the Canby Police Department since the pursuit. A small amount of Methamphetamine was also located on WELCH that was sealed in a waterproof container.
